How to master English?

I would like to start with an analogy. I believe everyone in the world would not fire a bonfire or campfire with ease if they don't know how to pile up the log. more than that, i also believe they will never get the bonfire burnt if they don't know how to light a fire. they would like to start anything from the very basic concept: LIGHTING A FIRE, PILING UP THE LOG, KNOWING HOW TO BURN THE BONFIRE SAFELY AND EXECUTING THE KNOWLEDGE.

People may debate on the stated question above, however based on that analogy, i have a personal standpoint answering the title. I believe that learning anything, including language, we have to learn first the rule. we would like to start with mastering the grammar.
